Pilates is a whole body fitness work out. The foundation for Pilates is core strength. Without a strong core you are opening yourself up for so many injuries, back pain being the most common. Other benefits include increased strength, balanced muscle development, flexibility and range of motion of the joints as well as decreased stress.
Nelly has a very personal attachment to Pilate’s. She suffers from congenital scoliosis that measured 45 degrees. Nelly consulted many physicians about her condition in order to alleviate her back discomfort due to her body imbalances. With the help of a massage therapist, Nelly realized that her condition could be improved by manipulating the core muscles around the spine. Along with her massage treatments she began private sessions with a Pilate’s instructor in 2003. The improvements in her back pain and scoliosis were amazing! She then concluded that Pilates was the answer to her scoliosis! Her back curvature has dramatically improved due to her new muscle control and body awareness. Nelly was hooked and has never looked back since.
After attending numerous seminars, workshops and anything else related to Pilates Nelly began the full Stott Pilates Comprehensive Program and is certified to teach:
